Diane Cox témoigne à propos de son expérience scolaire à Barbades :

The biggest difference I saw was that God is allowed in school here. When I first got there, all the children, in uniforms, were gathered in one big room, where the Principal was telling a story about the leper Naaman. All those children stood quietly and listened for 15 to 20 minutes before being dismissed to their classes. The children were well-mannered, and showed respect for their teachers by answering questions with Yes, teacher or No, teacher. Before lunch was served, the children stood and prayed for their meal. I wonder what would happen if we let God back in school in America!

One teacher was telling me the dangers of teaching in a high cocaine area. One day, two men stumbled into her room, fighting with machetes. She had to hurry and get her children out of the room. The government is now helping them to build a fence around the school.

The teachers here have very few supplies to use. That is not at all like us, who have every kind of resource we need. The teachers even have to buy their own chalk. The few books they had were very well worn. We would have pitched them long ago. The teachers were well-dressed, and very kind to me.
